What w2cd does
Generate, rename and save correctly all pages that:
- Are static pages generated from standard HTML files and linked
from normal HREF tags or standard Javascript navegation functions.
- Are dinamically generated from programmed pages with any extension
in our supported page extension list and are reachable
by normal HREF tags or standard Javascript navegation functions
visible from the page code, without minding if they extract
their information from a database engine or not.
Generate, rename and save correctly all images that:
- Are static images called from standard IMG SRC tags or are
BACKGROUND images of any of the reachable pages or of any
of their tables or cells.
- Are dinamically shown by calling a programmed page or function
with any extension in our supported page extension list
which returns the correct image, without minding if they extract
it from a database or just generate its path.
Include all the Javascript and Stylesheet files refered by any of the
reachable pages.
Include also any file which can be downloaded from any of the reachable
pages of the internet web site. It doesn't matter which its extension
is (DOC, ZIP, PDF, etc...).
Include any Flash animation shown in any reachable pages and keep it
completly functional while its contained links has got relative
paths to static HTML pages (.HTM or .HTML).
IMPORTANT:
Everything said above will be true when the file is linked by
absolute (http://...) or relative (dir/filename) paths, but only
if they are found under the root domain which w2cd is processing,
and will be left without modifying or browsing by w2cd if they
are under any other domain. For example, if the web site w2cd
is working on is 'www.yourdomain.com' it will include all pages,
images and files linked from any of the accesible pages and which
their path is under 'www.yourdomain.com', and will not include
nor modify any other link refering to pages under 'www.anotherdomain.com'.
Sorry, it's impossible... by the moment!
The forms in HTML web pages (contact or search forms, for example)
need of a web server to be operative. So, the web pages forms
contained in a CD will not work correctly. Anyway they can be
replaced by a personalized page to advise the visitor that those
options are only available in the internet web site.
The same happens with any other cgi or other languages scripts: they
cannot run on a web CD.
w2cd
cannot rename or modify the links in a Flash animation. That's
why the links with absolute paths in a Flash animation will be
only operative if the computer in which we are browsing the web
CD has got an active internet connection. Otherwise the browser
will show us a 'not found' page. The links in a Flash animation
with relative paths will work without any problem.
The absolute links to any web page outside the root domain w2cd
is processing will also depend of an active internet connection
to be browsable.
